GARDENSCAPES ART SHOW AND SALE
March 26-28, 2010
Submission Deadline: 4 pm, Friday, February 19th, 2010. Late submissions will not be accepted.
The University of Saskatchewan Arts council invites submissions for the 2010 Gardenscapes Art Show and Sale.
The 14th annual Gardenscapes Art Show and Sale will be held during Gardenscape - The Outdoor Living Show at the Saskatoon Prairieland Exhibition Trade and Convention Centre. Gardenscape, sponsored by the Saskatoon Prairieland Exhibition Corporation, is an annual home gardening trade show and educational event that attracts over 20,000 people from across the province. Participation in this show will provide artists with an opportunity to display and sell their works to a diverse audience.
Submission Guidelines:
- All original 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional media are considered
- Artwork must have a floral, garden or landscape theme
- All artwork must be for sale and cannot exceed the price of $750 framed
- A 30% commission will be calculated on all sales
- To keep show fresh,work submitted in previous year will not be accepted in current year
- Numbered prints will not be accepted
Submission Process:
- You can submit up to but not over 5 artworks for consideration
- Do not submit original artworks
- Submit clearly representational images of your artwork.Photographs, digital images or slides are acceptable. If the artwork is not clearly represented through this process – your submission risks being rejected
- Number each image
- Provide a numbered image list detailing: image number, title,medium, size (both unframed and framed), date and framed price.
- Provide contact information: name, address, phone, fax, email
- Provide a one-page typed artist’s history
- Mail submissions to: USAC, Gardenscape Art Show and Sale, Room 488Williams Building, 221 Cumberland Ave.N., Saskatoon SK S7N 1M3 Email digital images to: community.arts@usask.ca and type Gardenscape in the subject line.
Selection Process:
All submissions are reviewed on the deadline date. Selection is made according to quality of work, theme and overall number of submissions.
Details will be distributed to all class participants and posted on the Community Arts Program Bulletin Boards.

LOCAL ADJUDICATION
DATES: June 18–19, 2010

The University of Saskatchewan Arts Council is pleased to
announce the eighth open adjudication for visual artists and
craftspeople in Saskatchewan–Friday, June 18 and Saturday
June 19, 2010. For the fifth year, the University of
Saskatchewan Arts Council is pleased to be partnering with
the Gordon Snelgrove Gallery, thanks to the efforts of
Gallery Coordinator Gary Young.Our adjudication process,
individual crtiques, artist talk(s) and public reception will all
take place in the gallery.The Gordon Snelgrove Art Gallery is
suported by the University of Saskatchewan, and receives
external funding from the Museums Association of
Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Lotteries.Throughout the
province of Saskatchewan, local adjucications are hosted and funded partly by Arts Councils and by OSAC through
Saskatchewan Lotteries.These program promote the growth
of culture by providing opportunities for visual artists and
craftspeople to exhibit their work, and to develop critical
skills through participation with adjudicators. Some artists
may also have the opportunity to submit their work, be
chosen to tour throughout the province in the “Saskatchewan...Art on the Move Program”.Woks tour for
two years and artists receive exhibitions fees based on the
CARFAC minimum fee schedule.
The adjuciation process includes the submission of an
application, installation of art works, adjudication, artist
talk(s), individual critiques, and a public reception. All
activities will take place at the U of S Snelgrove Art Gallery.
